Customers Now Able to Check New Account Status Instantly

DALLAS (July 18, 2000) - BankDirect, an Internet only bank, (www.bankdirect.com), announced today the introduction of a new service available to its online banking customers which enables them to instantly review the status of their account applications.

Customers who have submitted an application with BankDirect can go directly to the web site, www.bankdirect.com, to check the status of their application. By simply entering their name and zip code, customers can retrieve up-to-date information on their application, the date their deposit was received and the exact date the account is activated. BankDirect President and Chief Operating Officer Scott Prince said, "We want to make applying for a BankDirect account as simple and as accessible as possible. We have streamlined the application process and provided customers with the information they need to have immediate access to their bank account.
